Our August meeting at Jim Austin's hangar on Aaero Valley Airport for brunch was again fun and not too hot for we Texans. There were 35 members in attendance and a few long-time members that came back for the day. Pancakes, Bacon, and other treats were enjoyed by all.

Our next meeting will be our Fall Festival of flight on the 20th and 21st of this month at Gainesville Airport, thanks to Ayers aviation. We are hoping the move to this month will increase the attendance because Depot Days will be in October.

I will be leaving next week for the annual Blakesburg AAA fly in which is always full of antique airplanes and lots of members in attendance. If you get a chance the museum and library are worth the trip.

If you are a member of our TXAAA chapter, or if you just love airplanes of all kinds, we would like to see you all on the 20th for our hamburger cook out and/or on the 21st for the pancake breakfast. Visit the TXAAA website at txaaa.org or texasantiqueairplane.com for details, on the fly mart, aircraft judging, food trucks, and all the activities on the weekend.

Bruce Putney will again be the fly in chairman, thanks Bruce. We are planning the event so watch for updates. Please contact Bruce if you can volunteer to help with the Fall Festival of Flight this year, we still need help to run this event so please contact Bruce. His E mail is Bruce0739@att.net.

About Us

The Texas Chapter of the Antique Airplane Association is incorporated in the State of Texas as a non-profit corporation. We meet each month for a social gathering at members' locations and provide a forum for those who love old planes. We also hold a Fly-In on the second Friday and Saturday in October each year, which the public and other aviation enthusiasts can attend. We are dedicated to "Keep the Antiques Flying."
