"In order to characterise the performance of domestic air and ground source heat pumps (ASHP and GSHP), the Coefficient of Performance (COP) from over 100 models was collected, along with the temperature rise across the heat pump. From the relationship between COP and temperature rise, the annual seasonal performance in the UK was estimated. COPs for ASHP and GSHP operating in the UK are calculated, with output temperatures ranging from 30 to 60°C. These are compared to published results from independent tests and field trials."
