Daily checklist

Post by car3tak3r » 29th Sep 2023 at 4:59am

Hello fellow caretakers,

I'm hoping to get your thoughts on implementing a daily site safety checklist at my primary school. My new Bm would like me to fill out and sign off on a very thorough checklist covering tasks like:

Perimeter checks
Inspecting trees
Monitoring contractors

While safety is of course critical, the proposed list includes many items I currently only inspect on a weekly, monthly, or termly basis which has worked well.

I'm struggling to complete this lengthy checklist daily on top of my existing maintenance routines. Have any of you been required to do a rigorous daily site inspection? What tasks did you find reasonable to cover each day?

I'd appreciate any insights from your experiences as I try to push back respectfully on duties that may be excessive for a daily time frame. Please let me know what daily site safety checks you've found most essential at your schools. Thank you for your advice!
